Elkins Technologies was founded in 2000 by Mark Elkins. Mark has over 40  years of experience as an electrician, communications technician, and technical instructor.

Mark received certification as a Master Electrician in Suffolk County, NY in 1984, and a Class A Unlimited Electrical License in Downers Grove, IL in 2000, and currently holds the same license in Aurora, IL. After moving to Illinois Mark worked as a technical instructor for the Chicago Transit Authority and then as a communications technician for a local company, working on data and 911 centers for several suburban municipalities. Elkins Technologies was started in order to pull all his training and experience together, and provide you with a full service electrical and communications contracting service. All 5 of Mark's children have had a hand in building the company, and currently Mark's daughter, Jessica, takes care of book keeping.

In 2012 commercial building maintenance services were added to provide commercial  and industrial customers with a full service contracting company.
